February 24, 2010

The coordinators of the Flying Pig want to create a “cheerleader row” to line the final stretch of the marathon on Eastern Avenue this year. Participating school squads that enter the “Ham-It-Up” competition to cheer on runners in creative ways will be entered into judging for a $500 first place prize, $300 for second or $150 for third.

The Flying Pig is held on the morning Sunday, May 2. For details, contact J.P. at pigentertainment@yahoo.com or (513) 721-7447. Squads must register by April 20.

CALLING ALL SOUNDERS OF SWINE

Tap into Pig Frenzy by participating in the Ham It Up contest.

Any community, church, school, or civic group that is interested in supporting the runners of the Flying Pig Marathon are
encouraged to participate in the event as Squealers. All groups participating competing for a contest award must
register and be accepted by the Ham It Up Committee.

Squealer Groups can show their en-soo ey- asm and support during the Flying Pig Marathon through song, music,
cheers, costumes, banners, signs, etc. Be creative, inspirational, and clever but please don’t interfere with the
progression of the marathoners as they make their way toward their goal. And remember, ALL participants appreciate
encouragement so plan to be out there for the duration of the race.

The 12th Annual Flying Pig Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, May 2 beginning at 6:30am. The time your group needs to
be at its post will be determined by the placement on the course. The Ham It Up Committee has identified specific areas
along the course that will be reserved for Squealer Groups. The Committee will inform you as to when the runners will
be passing your area.

Not only will you have fun cheering along the runners but your group may win cash for being selected as a top squealer!!
The Flying Pig Marathon will award $500 to the best Squealing group, $300 to the Runter-ups, and $150 to a 3rd place
Tailing group. The Ham It Up Committee will be out on the course to judge all registered groups.

If you have a non-profit organization that would be interested in the Contest, please complete the registration form and
return it by April 20th. There are no bad spots on the course, but the “preferred” spots go fast so register early to mark
your territory.

Please call 513-721-7447 or email pigentertainment@yahoo.com with any question.
